Here, you can find some of my past projects.

Elementen van Huizen

Lode Pemmelaar , 1978-80, acrylic or alkyd on canvas on plywood

Project Highlight

This conservation project involved treating a series of twelve acrylic or alkyd-on-canvas-on-plywood paintings. The ensemble depicts various architectural elements, windows, chimneys, and brick walls, inspired by 1970s VERO building blocks. The treatment has been published in the NCR news and the RCE magazine.

waterlandschap bij avond

Christiaan Hendriks Hammes, ca. 1915, oil on canvas, 65 x 47cm

Project Highlight

The conservation of this evening landscape required a highly iterative and adaptive approach to varnish removal due to the extreme sensitivity of the underlying paint film. The project serves as a primary example of a systematic, trial-based methodology for ensuring the safety of original materials when standard protocols fail.

Bonifatius

Anonymous, ca. nineteenth century, oil on paper adhered to wood, 42 x 27cm

Project Highlight

The treatment of Bonifatius focused on resolving the complex degradation of a marouflaged support system. This project highlighted the unique challenges of treating paintings that reside in a "grey zone" between traditional canvas and paper conservation methods.

Arkas’ lost arm

Project Highlight

This project involved the digital reconstruction of a damaged plaster cast from the Allard Pierson Museum (Amsterdam) following the loss of its right forearm during relocation. The intervention utilized advanced 3D modelling techniques to restore the statue’s iconographic completeness for documentation and public presentation.
